In 1977, the Skateboard Wizards was formed by 9 kids from the Nyack, NY area. Our mission was to just skate and have fun while teaching others how to do the same.  

We would enjoy traveling and competing with others in the NY Metro area pushing ourselves to learn new tricks. Our style and excitement to skate attracted many people. No matter where we went, we'd skate and teach each other new tricks forming a brotherhood of skaters. 

Jamaal Bey, the founder and aka, "the Godfather of Skateboarding " has been teaching and preaching freestyle moves for over 50 years and is dedicated to supporting youths for a brighter tomorrow.  

We have created a community outlet that embraces teaching others of all age, race, and gender, the great joys of skateboarding while forming a brotherhood & sisterhood amongst the youth. 

Every Saturday and Sunday, between 12:00 - 3:00pm we set-up camp at Nyack Memorial Skatepark. 

Members of the youth skate clubs, the Wizards, Scat Cats, & Bad Boys ebb and flow while newcomers eagerly come to learn. 

Free lessons are offered by, "the Godfather of Skateboarding" teaching you everything from just pushing around to one footed 360's.  

Gear is not necessary, just come and try it out! We supply a board and everything to be safe, no problem.

When the Skateboard Wizards last rallied with community supporters in 2015, the Nyack Memorial Skatepark was born. Its been 7 years already and we are excited to announce an upcoming mission to not only repair our existing skatepark, but to also expand it allowing skateboarders new challenges and allow for space to teach the growing number of students.
